Anyone grow them? What can you tell me about them?

I've grown them. Unfortunately they didn't do too well. They came up but fizzled out before producing much. I think it got too hot for them. The collards didn't do well that summer either. I think I have them in my garden plan again for this year - we'll see if they do better.

Did you get enough to determine flavor?

No, they died out before they were big enough to eat. Sorry - I'm not much help, but this is such a little known variety, I was happy to hear of someone else considering it. I looked at my garden plan and I do have a small spot I could try it again.

I planted some about a hundred years ago Seed. It was in that other state...
But what I think I remember is a tender smooth flavor, sort of buttery maybe?

I hesitated posting because it's been so long ago that I grew them, but I think you should plant them, after all, they say CORN in the name.:D

Report back here, and you can tell me how far off I was.

I thought they were about the best of salad greens, Seedcorn.

Very mild flavor, I bet anything would go with them.

However . . . I grew them once. Then, the seed failed for the next 2 times I tried to grow it. Maybe it needs to be sown very, very early. Maybe it was olde seed. That could be a problem with uncommon choices from the catalog outfits.
