Couldn't stop myself...

We love our little chickies.... but at 6+ weeks old, I need them to move out! hahaha

Our ducks are penned now, and they are SUPER messy. It just comes with ducks. I'm going to scoop their pen soon, if it would ever warm up and dry out! I try to lay a lot of hay in their for them. In the end it all ends up in the compost though, so the garden loves them. :)

Not to mention the size of the super huge and yummy eggs from our Pekin!

Yea, I had my batches of ducklings last year in the house until about 3wks. Then I move them into a hutch with their heat lamp if its still early in the year. If not, they really don't need the heat after 4wks. Obviously, winter they need the heat longer. I use towels for ducklings, far easier and less nasty than paper or shavings.
This year I have evil guinea hens, so I wont be able to let the new chickens just free in the coop as juvies like I always have. =(
Those darned things still chase off the 4 white leghorn hens...

Those babies are absolutely beautiful :) I was this close to buying my own last week, plus my friend just gave me a whole cartoon of farm fresh eggs that seem like they were made for my incubator. Must...Resist... :P

Moved them to a larger brooder!
