Cream Legbar Rooster

;-) That's the idea Bay.
As it turns out, another swapper is interested in traiding a dominick pullet for my 'leftover' legbar roo. I'm trying to work out to swap with her and pick up the legbar pullet on the same day.
If I undertand it right ... by keeping him with barred hens, I will also keep the auto-sexing trait. ?
:-)

Well, I picked up the legbar and the dominick pullets this weekend. And got rid of one of the legbar boys. The little trio is settling into life in the tractor pretty well. :-)
Now just waiting for eggs to start rolling in! LOL
Acutally, IF they lay this year, it probably won't be till Oct or so.

Hi Richard.
As it turned out, I lost my legbar roo to an injury and gave the dom. pullet to a friend who breeds them. The legbar pullet joined the rest of my mixed flock... and has apparently decided not to lay till spring... :(

I don't have an incubator - yet. ;) If I hatch any this spring, it will be with a broody hen. OR - the dom. breeder down the street does a LOT of hatches so I can always ask her to slip a few eggs in for me.

Do you have chickens? Any particular breeds?

Hi, Yes, we now have a few Sex link, we've had different breeds, wifey had an Ameracana that gave blue eggs, she, the hen, when old and unwell, Nicole brought her into the house and held her, she died in her arms..

We have a bator, that I made from a Ice Chest {not hard to do}, it works very well. we've gotten several batches of chicks. Presently we have no roo.

Richard
