Cucumbers- what's the deal???

I found the zucchini relish recipe. I'll post it under recipes.
Yay, zucchini relish for everyone. Can you ever have enough zucchini recipes?

The best cucumber I ever planted were planted in July. not sure how that made a difference. i had four plants and got 6 or more cukes everyday. people started running when they saw me coming.

That is how I feel this year about my 3 cuke plants. Every time I go out to check on them I want to cringe... Cuke grown in the South are definitely different than cukes grown in the North

you should plant a second round. Last year as I said I planted late and they did great.

CATALINA:

I'm in a burb north of Minneapolis, Zone 4b, and I 'start' the cucumber seeds mid April and wait to put the cucumber plants IN the ground the first week of June.

I have had problems in the past with powdery mildew on the leaves of my cucumber plants. I have since read in many sources that one of the reasons this happens is from 'water' on the leaves. So, this year, I am being VERY diligent and watering each cucumber plant, by hand, and ONLY on the soil UNDERNEATH the plants so that no water gets on the leaves. We'll see how this works!

Once you try zucchini relish, you won't want pickle relish.......just a warning. I can eat zucchini relish by itself.
my grandmother has made it for years, so yummy on a hot dog or hamburger. Try putting it on a steak as a condiment.
