dd and db are making a 2 stop trip seeing family up in Delaware and then driving down sunday for a couple days to visit us. db mentioned that a drive would be nice.. ok works for me..

so figured the blue ridge parkway, yes a little late to see the fall colors but still a nice drive<someday want to drive the whole parkway> so started to follow it found a nice place to stop have lunch..
Chateau Morrisette www.thedogs.com of course it's closed monday and tuesday...grrrr
dw and i will have to drive there and have lunch next summer..

looked around and found this resort..OMG you need a titanium american express card and a 10 year financial statement to stay there..
primland.com
you really need to look at their prices..... 20.00 just to clean a fish  it would be a once in a lifetime weekend.... on the bucket list to do....
yes really need to look over their prices on everything...:hide

kept following the parkway to fancy gap va found a nice little restaurant along the parkway that will be open either days.. looks like a great place to stop for lunch. will report on the lunch
www.thegapdeli.com/

then follow the parkway to va 771 into nc 104 into mt airy do a couple things related to andy griffin and mayberry...

looks like a very fun drive for the day......... it's going to be good to see them both again...

That sounds like a wonderful way to spend time together. I can just hear the brother stories now. :)

Looked at tree climbing at Primland...I figured that couldn't possibly be a budget buster... Oookaaay...
Must be some pretty special trees y'all have out there!

Lunch at the deli sounds like a great idea though.
Have an awesome time Major!

You said "tree," @Nyboy said "mimosas."

I thought Mimosas were for the house, "sensitive plants." Drinks? Had to look that up. Southern Trees?

Shows you what I know ...

Have fun Major'! Remember, Dad will have a little trouble keeping up with "the boys."

;) Steve
