It is a little after 9am I have already gone round 1 with my dad. He called wanting to know when I could take him flag shopping. He wants a new one for July 4. 2 years ago I took him flag shopping we had to go to several stores because he would only buy a flag made in America. I made a remark about his made in the US flag lasting 2 years maybe he should try one made in China.:hide I am really going to pay for that remark :hit:hit:hit Tonight is not going to be fun.

NYboy, I am with your Dad on this one... the quality of products made in china is going down and down and the instructions on how to use them / install them is more often confusing at best and wrong than not , while all the while the price goes up and UP . :old  :duc

As retired military, I have strong feelings about respecting the flag. IMO, buying a U.S. flag made outside the U.S. is just wrong, in several ways. There are some things that should not be outsourced. If you want to show respect for the nation's flag, you should show respect for the nation's workers as well, and buy a flag made in your own country. I suspect that those in other countries would feel the same about their own flag, and rightfully so.

I do the same thing, I find one made in the USA. The last one we bought was only like $50 bucks and still in great shape. It is the spot light that is giving me problems lately, need to replace. It was probably made in China lol.

I've been gardening for a new widow. She's trying to fix up the place to sell. She was throwing away her old flag. I took it and will find a place to donate so its retired properly.

I like to give them to boy scout troops. When I was an assistant scoutmaster our troop held several retirement ceremonies. VFW posts are another good option.
