I live in the Texas Hill Country and we are having a very bad draught this years. It is always pretty dry but this is really bad. What type of plants, trees, or flowers will grow well in a dry climate. I am tired of watching all my plants die even my lantana is sick

We have the same problem here in California.

There are many drought resistant shrubs and flowers to choose from, you should definitely check into any natives that grow well. In the mean time here are a few.

Flowers
Purple Coneflower Echinacea purpurea
Sweet Alyssum Lobularia maritima
Portulaca or Mose Rose Portulaca grandiflora
Canna
Autumn Joy Sedum Sedum telephium
Day Lilies
Bearded Irises
Lavender Lavandula angustifolia

Shrubs
Junipers
Honeysuckle Vine
Japanese Clematis Clematis paniculata
Cottoneaster

Also, most succulents and cactus do nicely in drought conditions and have some very pretty flowers. When looking for plants go for things that are woody, have narrow, gray/blueish/white colored foliage, in general these will do better in drought conditions. Many annuals and perennials, once established can do well with a dry period and can go a week or two without water. Proper mulching will go a long way.

Good luck!
