i had a dream the other morning that i was at some kind of party. i hate parties as much as i hate dreaming about them or even dreaming of going to school in my unders...

a part of the dream involved drugs, but they were harmless drugs because they were shaped like legos and were bright blue and green and other primary colors. everyone knows legos are harmless and that colors like skittles are all just candy... right? right?! i was not at all upset by these strange drugs but that they were under the ironing board at a party was definitely enough to jolt me a bit so i started walking around checking out some other places at the party.

and then i wandered into a side area that was like a large stone veranda with different benches and everyone was sitting around talking and drinking and whatever. me, being utterly not into that at all other than looking at the stonework made for the stairs to get back up to the main floor and all that exercise got me to wake up.
But did you have the pillows and blankets on your head when you woke up 😀

This morning as I woke up I thought I was listening to this guy that reads a bunch of stories on YouTube.

He was telling a story about guy that kept inviting himself into a families home, after finishing the garden work he did for them. He made the young girl in that that home feel paticularly uncomfortable.
So much so that the man of the house told him not to come back again and this gardener got more than a little agitated, and caused a few problems

As I listened on, it transpired that this gardener was the guy that did my garden for a few years. In reality...He would often would arrange days and just didn't turn up. Losing me chunks of my life when I could have done other thing's plus he'd ignore requests on numerous occasions.

In real life ...This man was extremely two faced and (not meaning to be insulting) a really stupid person because as he mocked me or people in general. It was so obvious. I couldn't resist telling him every time, I heard this embarrassing him as i did so. So I eventually blocked him.

Back to my dream.
I was so surprised on hearing this jerk had become a story on YouTube and to be honest as I woke up i was so disappointed that he hadn't been part of that story at all 😞

My neighbours and their nearby family were away for some unknown reason.

In my dream I was at the part where I was taking care for their dogs and home.

Nancy had run off and I needed to find her but I had to set their house alarm to rights before leaving their home. The darn thing not only swutched itself on but went on and on resulting in successfully locking their doors to 🤔

Now the big problem on top of having to search for Nancy, was dealing with this alarm trapping me inside.
How could I possibley search for Nancy 😢
This was all so stressful big time

Suddenly and thankfully I was finally outside the building and ever so relieved too see my Nancy had come back home to me. But STILL I could hear that ruddy alarm buzzing

On waking up, with with a lick off Nancy, I could STILL hear this ruddy alarm blaring away, now that was really confusing me big time. Because I definitely wasn't dreaming. So why was this alarm still not going away 🤔

Sometime during the few hours I managed to get back to sleep, after waking up at 1am and falling back to sleep at 5am. A new neighbours car alarm suddenly kicked off. This was some kind of electrical fault.

That thing was relentless for a good twelve hours. Waking up a lot of people in our road. Obviously not me, I just added that noise to my dream. 💤 😴 💤

A brief gardening dream before I woke up to greet the day :).

I was telling someone how well composting works under certain conditions. The initial condition was that the compostables were very dry. Nothing too special, it was just like dried hay. Soak that with water and the result is almost instant. Drying must make nutrients available to microbes, water is necessary but drying is a little like baking dough into bread. Sometimes, it is as though fresh material still has some of the components that the plant has for defense against other organisms. It's like you are on your way to making sauerkraut with them –– important reason to mix the "greens and browns."

I used to live within a couple of miles of a feedlot for a cattle operation. They brought in lots of hay and the tarps didn't always protect it from rain/snow. Check with the guys there –– they would point at the bales of spoiled hay. Except, it was far from "spoiled" for composting. In fact, the mold that they were keeping from the cattle was only on the outside and rather than soaked, the bales were mostly dry when they were opened up in our semi-arid climate.

Manure could be shoveled in the back of the pickup there or elsewhere. I'd do some layering and stacking leaving an opening at the top of a rectangular stack of alfalfa hay and manure. They would look like chimneys sticking up on the other side of the garden. In cold weather, the steam would add to that image ;). Of course, they fairly quickly collapsed and I could move the outside material into the middle, maybe piling some soil on. A start to a little orchard was nearby so the sprinklers could be directed towards the stacks during the growing season but after that first piling of the flakes and a good soaking, those stacks would nearly "ignite" with decomposition.

I show up on TEG this morning and @ducks4you is talking about soaking her very dry compost pile. Well, whoever I was talking to in that dream and anyone who reads this now has my same story :D.

when you dry plants out it does damage to the cells of the plant so that when it gets wet again they will decompose faster.

when you get green goodies with the right bacteria and fungi and enough moisture it can turn into sileage, which i think you may be familiar with, pretty much cow kimchee (minus the hot stuff).
