Wow, 50% off is alot. Stupice is a very nice little tomato! I empathize with shipping costs woes. Now that I'm on the other side of the fence though, trust me, for seeds which are that inexpensive, $5 is a super deal for shipping! $5.00 is a good deal even without the sale.

Since I intend to start these Stupice tomatoes to put two into my 100 cracked Rubbermaid tank right next to the south wall of the house, I will transplant deep and use the plastic ~2 1/2 x 2 1/2 plastic pieces that used to be in my suspended ceiling (before the new lighting and ceiling tiles, bc I saved them all,) and kinda greenhouse them.
I borrowed two very pretty plastic coated green and blue cages from DD, but the middle rings split, so I will replace those for Them, and use those And stakes.)
Pretty easy to water since it willl be feet from the faucet.
I also intend to start carrots around them and probably some basil, or some other herbs--whatever strikes my fancy.

Good News! I Finally got some planting done!!
I had been working on my stand alone 3' x 6' bed with wooden borders, sort of a raised bed.
I planted 10 packages of el cheapo Lisbon bunching onions and Crimson Giant radishes, 2024.
In a few weeks I will see what is coming up and plant from the 5 packages I have left, if it is sparce.
I am starting one of my lettuces this weekend indoors, and I plan to intersperse them with the onions and radishes.
I also hope to Finally plant leeks in jugs to start right next to the basement windows in the window wells. I hope to make this a leek bed after I harvest the other stuff..
I moved the two old rubber horse water buckets next to the house. The one with the 3 sample Italian garlic has spinach seeds planted, the one with the 3 onions has chives and bee balm seeds.
The bee balm seeds were a sample packet and they are so tiny, it's hard to know what will happen--we will see in a few weeks.
I was surprised to be out of marigolds!
Guess I'll have to pick some of them up.
I have a Lot of nasturtiums, which I Love, but they sprawl. and I have other spots that really need them this year.

I once planted waaaay too many basil seeds in spring and then had no room for them all in the garden. So I went around to every potted tomato plant and stuck the plants around the edges of the pots. Best basil I've ever grown. I think they liked the wee bit of shade that the plants gave them.

Basil Hates it cold, so I won't be starting any until April. I thought about planting basil next to my tomatoes--glad to find out it is a good idea!

I stopped at Dollar General on the roundabout (like the UPS "we only turn right") driving directions, to feed DD's cats. I found marigold seeds, and through today they were 4/$1, so I spent $2 on them, good deal since they are Very easy to grow.
I also bought some more off brand potting soil to start them and to start some other seeds for "winter sowing", which it is still it for a little while longer.

I got the right pain meds last night, so my legs didn't hurt, but when I got up in the middle of night I took too much melatonin and I dragged all morning.
Got ponies fed, emptied burn barrel into the fire pit, pulled up bottom stems from burdock that had grown last year between pavers--it took until NOW for them to come out of the ground easily--then I noticed a Lot of burrs.
Not enough time/energy to deal with them today, probably will burn tomorrow morning, then I can sit and burn and get up and clean up, throw in and burn more, etc.
I got the 3 new packages of cheapo garden soil from Dollar General inside. I also grabbed three 33 gallon garbage bags to line the bottoms of the window wells in preparation for winter sowing jugs. They are in the first window well held down with 1/2 of a paver. The black plastic should help with germination.
I also pulled off some of the 2024 asparagus fronds with fruit for inside sowing.
I watered the 3'x6' salad garden bed. This afternoon I will cover with the old clear used shower curtain to keep the humidity going this week. It's going to be topping at 70 degrees tomorrow, but lows near freezing.
Every bed has workable soil. I still have my pile of bricks to use for weights.
I counted about 20 porcelain garlic up and finally, 3 German red garlic are up. The German garlic are getting a lot of shade right now, should be more soon.
