Cover everything in hardware cloth. Lay a 2' wide strip on the ground all the way around the coop and attach it to the coop.

Here is a tutorial on how I built a hoop coop. It can be adapted to a hoop run also.

I have heard of that. It is harder to see where you are with the big hood of a truck, especially in tight places.
