I wish more people respected and read that precious document.
It bodes ill for this country when an elected politician called it "A negative document" and a Supreme Court Judge suggested people check out the constitutions of other countries rather than use ours as a model for a newly-freed nation seeking democracy.

I'm all for Texas pulling out of the Untied States and becoming our own country again. We have agriculture, oil, refineries, NASA, factories, the Houston Ship Channel........haha we could send a rocket to the moon and plant a TEXAS flag on it.

I don't know if the legalization of pot is driving anyone to take up arms against the union or if it's the criminalization that's doing it. Probably both.
SeedO's family has already applied for permanent residency in . . . where was it? The California Republic? Those Canadians had better be watching the border! Personally, I have Scottish forebears so they better roll out the welcome mat after they kick the agents of the UK, south. Packin'

Tyranny.
You know, what is going on in the United States right now.
We have a government that is meddling in the disputed South Sea with China and Japan, meddling with Russia and the Ukraine, meddling with various African countries, meddling with the Koreas, has entrenched us firmly in the quagmire that is the entire Middle East and while not busy meddling with the rest of the world, is busy spying on all of us and wire tapping not only us but our Allies, earning us the ire of pretty much all of the rest of the world.
Oh, and is attempting to slash our military in half in order to rack up trillions more to replace our men with state of the art equipment, after having disabled our military so thoroughly by placing women and gays in combat roles, making us even more of a target to the world over and when not a target a laughing stock.
Borrowing trillions of dollars to give to foreign countries who openly despise us, while over 47 million Americans are on SNAP, including disabled Veterans, the elderly and worst of all, children suffering from hunger and homelessness right here in the United States, which if such persons were to form their own country, it would be almost twice the size of Texas.
This and lots more besides.
Tyranny does not give a formal declaration that it has arrived. We do not even bother to formally declare war anymore, so if you are waiting for a dictator to openly state they are trying to completely destroy your country, I would not hold your breath, because the tyrants are already here and doing a pretty good job.
This whole Marijuana thing, along with the increase in the minimum wage is just a distraction to pacify and distract the crowd, while the wealth of America is being stolen from ourselves and our posterity as our Founding Fathers feared.
