Well got the apples and pears picked, but now I'm too tired to can! Maybe I can get it done Saturday.

My own apples? Yeah you could say that. But the juice I used on the pears was purchased.

Now that is a beautiful sight.

If you use apple juice, does that mean you don't have to add any extra sugar? If so, that sounds much better to me. I do mine in light syrup, but that's because I didn't know there was any other way about it.

Here's the BBB recipe for apple pie filling. I've not tried it yet, but it sounds like what I'm wanting to do with the Clear-Jel and all. It says pint, but I don't see why you couldn't do it in a quart jar. And here's another, similar, in quarts. This one has more spices too. I'm not willing to pay $3.50 per batch for the Mrs. Wages mixes, plus I like to add my own seasonings how I like.
