Was watching The Music Man and heard the phrase, "Not on your fireless cooker..." That made me curious and I Googled "fireless cooker. Seems they were really popular in the early 1900's. Apparently they work kinda like a crock pot. Just curious, anyone ever try it?

I read some of the websites from my Google search. Pretty cool. There is a device that is used today on the same principle. It's a large Thermos Bottle type of thing that you put partially cooked food in and allow it to slow cook for hours with the lid sealed tight. They're quite expensive. Thermal Cooker

The only experience I have had with a fireless cooker was with a solar cooker.
