My chayote vines seemed to be dying back for the Winter when lo and behold I went out to look at them today and there were four chayote maturing on the dead looking vines. I picked the largest one today and I'll use it in the stir fry noodles tomorrow. we're approaching the shortest day of the year so maybe I'll see some growth soon.

Don't you just love it, when nature surprises you! I found a watermelon under my borage, months after harvesting the others. Don't ask me how I walked past it a million times and didn't notice it!

This is the first time I've tried choyote so I really don't know what to expect. Maybe it's normal for it to grow in warm weather and fruit when it cools off. Anyone else have any experience with it? I did find out you have to keep pumping the water to it or the leaves collapse.
