That sounds great!
The broken branch is good, the way you talked it was to tall and did not want to cut it. It cut itself. ;)

I would like to see the stem of the cutting before I suggest what to do!

Congrats on the new plant!

Oh good, this is a fine cutting!
Go ahead and cut it at a sharp angle, remove all the lower leaves (I count 8 or 9 that I would remove) by giving them a good yank downward! This will make them break off clean without short dead ends to collect trouble.

Then just stick in a rooting medium and watch over the winter.
They will grow very slow at first as it sets roots.

sorry but I just thought about this, The chunk you remove can be laid on the soil and held down with a wire made into a staple.

That chunk should root and make two little sprouts!

ok I am a bit confuzzeled?
I got the pull off the long leaves, now did you mean just lay the whole thing down and wire it or should I cut a chunk out and make 2 seperate plants?

and what to do about the long stem thats left, couldnt that also be cut to make more plants?
I love these types of plants and the more the merrier.
There is 5 ft 7 " of naked stalk left just looking all sad and unattractive.
Thanks Joe.

Ok I am as dumb as a stump :he
T he minute I cut the angle I knew what you were talking about, geesh some days your the light bulb some days your the stump.

Alright sounds like you have the idea now.

You took and cut a short length off to make the angle, the long stem with the head on it is going right into you mix as a new plant! Upright.
The little chunk is the one you lay on it's side.

The long bare stem you have can stay to grow some leaf and be cut again or you can cut it to were you would like two or three new shoots to start. What you cut off can be cut into 3 inch pieces and also started on there side on the top of the soil.
You can also store them in pete for some time as long as it is not to wet.
