I have brown Jersey and if I can get size small I can do about anything in them, but if I can't find mine and wear DH's then I need to take them off and on. I have worn them for 40 years. I used to raise greyhounds and in Kansas it was cold, so I always had those green insulated coveralls with the red lining and Jersey gloves and when real cold would wear 2 pair. I buy them by the package and have them in the dirty clothes, in front of the fireplace drying, in my pockets, on the patio, in the rain, in the sun, everywhere, but I still take them off and on. I feed the rabbits and clean stuff and take one off to pet them and end up forgetting to put it back on. I go out to plant something and need to take it off to handle a plant. My hands will get dirty, but not dried out. If I go and pull weeds and things without them then my hands are messed up, so I have dirty hands when I come in, but not tore up if I wear the gloves most of the time. I used to get cracks in my fingers from having my hands in the water in the winter and a vet told me to put a jar of udder cream by the sink and use it to wash my hands in the winter and it cured my fingers.
