Dung it already.

A lot of people get up to their boot tops in it just because they can't think of anything else to do, no matter what they say about doody. Right or wrong, got it together or in deep - it's room & board and money is money but money and talk is like fertilizer - it doesn't do anything but lie there unless it is spread around.

Not trying to end up SOL on this subject. Just shooting the shoot . . .

Before the advent of chemical fertilizers manure was a valuable comodity. If a farmer produced more than he used it was easy to sell.

Still is. Farmers buy it based on nutrient content.

Doo-doo still does garner more money. My sister-in-law has her field rented out to a neighbor. She spreads all her horses' manure on the field during the winter. The farmer renting the land stopped by to give her more than the contracted rental fee because he uses less fertilizer and gets more crop off that land so it saves him money. He has continued to pay more for that field than any other of his rented acreage.

FYI, friend of mine spreads his manure to recommended rates (enough for 40 acres) rest of field gets commercial fertilizer. Manure part always out produces the rest by a significant amount.

A farmer bought a run down farm. He worked sunup till sundown for several years till he finally got it producing again.
One day the preacher came by for a visit. As the farmer showed him around he commented,"God has blessed you with a nice crop of hay", "God has blessed you with good land" etc.
Finally the farmer had enough. He said,"Shoot preacher you should have seen what a mess this place was in when God ran it all by himself".
