There don't seem to be any text and drive laws here. People all seem to drive to close anyway, so any little distraction causes a crash.
My DH has been rear ended so many times, he kinda has PTSD about it. He gets all freaked out, and goes to great lengths to get out of someone's way.
I think my cousin has the right idea: when she sees someone tailgaiting her, she starts driving real sporatic, weaving from side to side, slowing down,etc; Sse says they already figute she's crasy ,best stay out of her way,

Edit the next day: Wow, I sure can't spell after I've taken my sleeping pill. While I am totally awake, I edit to say "She says they already figure she's crazy; best stay out of her way."

lucky the best way to deal with a tailgater during the day, turn on headlights and step on gas. Driver behind you will not be able to see headlights in day but will see back lights and think their the brake lights and so brake themselves.

When I was a little girl we had two cats who would do this to our dog. Except they would trap him with one up and one down at the bottom and attack they poor old guy as he passed.
