Friend - These Christmas cookies are great.

Mom - Yeah, we always had these when I was a kid. Mom would make colored dough and cut it into all kinds of shapes. She'd make wreaths and candy canes, Christmas wasn't Christmas without these cookies.

Friend - And now you're carrying on the tradition!

Mom - Sort of. I buy them from someone who bakes like my Mom.
