Bored ?

I suppose that I could be bored with the housework that we were assigned. Bored with hoeing weeds in the garden. Bored with being stuck indoors during bad weather.

Bringing in the yearly 3 cuttings of hay could be exhausting. But, stacked in the barn, it was fun to play on. Chores with the cows, always there but they appreciated the attention. Horse to ride. Neighborhood kids would sometimes come up the road to play baseball in the field. Visits from family. I probably was too enthusiastic about going off to school and being there. Time at the public library was great! Once in awhile, there would be a movie. Saturday morning cartoons! A restaurant meal on a weekend. Fishing with Dad ...

sounds pretty good to me. we did have our share of neighbors and friends and events and even camping trips, but Dad was usually not around.
