Add a strawberry pot on the bottom of the pond too. That will give the fish something to hid in if the coons or other predators come by. They won't all make it but the smart ones will survive.

A trough heater will keep the pond from freezing over. Stop feeding when the water temp is 50 degrees as the fish's immune systems will not be as effective at that temperature which can lead to sick/dead fish. In the spring start back up when the temps are over that. They'll find things to graze on if they are hungry. Slow the feedings down maybe 2 a week till the temps really get that cold then stop. When it warms up start with a couple feedings a week as the temperatures rise again. Soon your back to normal feedings.

Great pics by the way!!!! I'm dying for a pond I absolutely love them.

A bathtub. A used one is easy to get, they're easy to cover up with rocks, dirt, and plants, they can be plugged up or the holes used to add to the pond... the hardest part is moving it.
