I was trying to make space for a garden in my house. First I thought to get hydroponic structures for the indoor gardening. Later I saw the Garden Window Ideas https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/...tGK105YuMqfPOcUqq0CY338ji8kZGVAcOvCsco5RLKrsw. I thought to replace my window as such above and my friend introduced me a custom window making company http://canglow.ca/windows/custom-vinyl-windows/ but I have only seen vinyl windows (custom) on their site. So I planned to install vinyl windows. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding this?

Welcome @Elzaangela!

I am happy to meet you and hope to get to know you better throughout the coming growing season.

That sounds like a great idea to increase your gardening spaces.

I have a smaller 4 seasons sun room attached to the southern wall of my home that allows me to garden a bit through the coldest weather and get a start with spring seedings.

I don't have any experience with vinyl window frames or garden windows. From a mechanical/structural aspect I'd think they'd be fine as long as they are properly designed. As long as you are happy from a style/fashion/match the rest of the house viewpoint I don't see any problems with vinyl.

Since that company is in Canada I assume you are too so you are experiencing longer nights and shorter days than I am. With my length of winter days I could probably get away with a south facing window and not use a grow light in one. Some of that would depend on what would be growing in it. I don't grow in the house except for seed starting so I can't comment on that from experience. I use a grow light for seed starting. Even a south facing window is not enough for that, I need a grow light to keep the plants from getting long and spindly.

well now you have me thinking of a few places i'd like some of these-bathroom being one & gets the most sun. my kitchen i have 2 windows i'd like to do but they are on the wrong side of the house for these to properly grow plant other than a few shade/filtered light loving plants.

I have been looking at them for a couple of years, have not decided if I want to spend the money for one. Sure like the looks of them.

Salesman came if they would have told me prices over phone would not have been wasted trip. $1,800 to $3,000 I passed up one in great condition on CL for $230 :he Boy am I sorry about that

i noticed something today at the local Dunkin Donuts, their drive thru window is very similar to a garden window. but they are 1 piece of glass, or maybe a type of plastic. it didn't have the frame around the corners like the ones in the pic.
