Getting a new horse tomorrow, fishing for name suggestions!

Argh! :barnie She backed out!

I was going to get him last night, but my BIL had to work OT and I couldn't get his truck (mine's in the shop). So she rode Rocky "one last time" and got so upset, she changed her mind.

(Moral of the story--Don't count your horses until they're in the barn!)

Don't give up yet. Maybe she's just a little trailer shy. ;)

I have a feeling she'll change her mind...(she's been agonizing over it for a year now). But I think I'll be better off to just save up $500 and go look for a horse that is just what I need, preferrably without any unsoundness anyway. :P

She offered me the other horse, Pusher. But he's got that name for a reason and I need that like a hole in the head. My dad has Parkinson's and I know he's going to want to ride him and I can't take the chance that I'll bring in a horse he'll get hurt on.

Explain that, maybe she will take pity and realize its good for all involved... :) Sympathy can be amazing on someone so emotional. ...but in a good way!

Journey....Try to stay in touch with her. I think that when the time comes for her to give him up, you will be her first choice. She will come to know that you are the best person to take good care of her beloved horse.

Let her know that when the time comes for her to let go you will gladly give it a good home. Make sure she has your phone number.

Journey - so sorry to hear that, but stick with it. It is so hard to part with an animal you love, and likes others have said keep in touch with her, when the time does come you will no doubt have first choice.

Good luck. :thumbsup

I think I did make a good impression on her (and she has my #). She knows I have a good set up. Hopefully when she's ready to retire him, she'll think of me. My friend who told me about this horse is involved in rescue, and she may come up with another one before too long. At least Rocky isn't suffering. He's taken good care of, they just need to downsize and save some money. I hope for her sake that she can afford to keep him. I know it would be hard for me if I were in her shoes. Like having to move and you couldn't take your dog--something like that would just kill me!
