Getting any snow?

Beautiful day here...skies so blue it hurts to look at 'em. Walking around in snow diamonds being blown from the trees and falling in a shower all around me. Got down to 1* this morning but temps are rising and snow is melting. Chickens out cutting trail in the snow and dogs playing like pups.

Final count here is about 18 in. and looks like rain and 50s for next week, so that will soon disappear.

and it works.....

yup your right those chains are to small... they are from my old 91 dodge Dakota it had 15" tires and the 350 has 16" tires. determined to at least break trail for the cars others here. decided to put my knowledge to good use from RNU<red neck university>...

hooked them on the back and then used some 3/16" aircraft wire and a cable clamp, then turned all the cam locks on the chains..

worked like a charm....great for what i needed to do...but not for highway use.....duh
going to look for chains that fit the truck...

Beekissed, there are benefits to city living. There are lots of stores, theaters, groceries, markets, churches, etc. often within walking distance. In times like this, we find there are also disadvantages to living in the city.

There are benefits to country living. Folks like us find those benefits far exceed the "stores, theaters, groceries, markets, churches, etc." [or anything] within walking distance" to be less important then the peace, quiet, privacy, and self-reliance of living in the country and having room between neighbors and plenty of sky above.

Neither way is right or wrong for anyone. It is just a choice.

Our highway dept did a great job this storm. State of emergency was declared any car on road last night would be ticketed. 8am with over a foot of snow, roads where all clear to blacktop. Sunny so a lot of melt which means black ice tonight.
Be careful out there. Did the help make it to work ?
