We are going to pick bleberry this am. four of us are going and i plan to pick a lot. Growning up in NE, I have alot of recipes, but I was a kid then and never help with the freezing or prserving. I don't have a doulbeboiler, but i have mason jars as well as Reynolds Handi-Vac.

Any suggestion?

Personally I like 'em best frozen loose, in a single layer, on a cookie sheet, and then once they are frozen into little hard marbles you can corral them into a freezer bag. If you're going to wash them before you do this, make sure they are fairly dry before putting in the freezer. Use them later for cobblers, pies, pancakes, whatever.

Blueberry jam (doubles as dessert sauce) is also really really good, I don't have a recipe handy though.

Mmmmmm, blueberries. I am horribly jealous of you - it will be a couple months til they ripen up here. <drool> :)

I do exactly the same thing that Pat does. They make delicious, healthy little snacks in the summer, straight from the freezer, too!

Have fun! :)
