Update on Luca the happy to bite & attack, reactive, insane Catahoula. I see a lot of dogs in these board and trains, and some of them make it, some don't. Most do, but there are some that you look at the intake video and think, yikes. That's what I thought about Luca. That level of ramped up, berzerk energy seemed like a really difficult fix, almost genetic limitation. But my gosh, she is recovered. Totally. No more exploding at other dogs, guarding people or things, being a nightmare on a leash. Not the same dog anymore. She just needed some initial punishment and some structure in her life, to know her place and 'the rules', and her wagon was absolutely fixed. It's sort of crazy really, that this dog got so imbalanced by endless love and kindness from her owner. I really hope the lady can keep up with the structure and protocols that The Good Dog set up for Luca, that of course is the key to whether the dog will remain as she is or regress. But it's looking good. Happy ending in a big way, she's going home a new dog!
☺️❤️ 🐶

There was no Youtube video of Luca, but they had this. It was the same situation basically.

Such an excellent video @Shades-of-Oregon, he sums it up so well so quickly.

Cesar Milan tells a story in one of his books about a dog that had been used for fighting, well, they tried using her for fighting but she wasn't any good. So they poured fuel on her and lit a match, ghastly. She survived somehow, though burned, and was brought to a rescue and eventually adopted by people who of course felt sorry for her and wanted to giver her a great life. But they fell into all the traps the fellow in the video talked about. They saw her as having been through a terrible time so wanted to counter that with everything they thought was good, or the opposite of what she had known. It backfired in a major way, and the dog couldn't handle it. She became cross with them. Of course, they wound up confused thinking we gave her the world, and she wants to bite and attack us?
