Good Car Battery For Cold Xmas surpise

The only batts I buy are Optima red top, 1000 cold cranking amps.
The last one I replaced lasted 13 years.
I buy them on Amazon for about $180.00 with free shipping, but you'll have to have someone install it, if you can't.

DH's truck wouldn't start one day, he was having a melt down. I popped the hood and said he needed new batteries. He raved and ranted.....I don't know how to take them out and put in new batteries.....who are we going to get to come over here and do this.......and a whole lot of cuss words that I will not repeat......I got wrenches and disconnected his batteries (diesel truck), he lifted them out and put in the trunk of my car. We went to town, got new batteries, the most cold cranking amps they had, and went home. We were putting them in when the neighbor stopped and then "the guys" installed the batteries. LOL

My nephew showed up with new battery and installed for my Christmas gift. He worked 2 years for tow company knows battery $150 from autozone. My nephew is VERY frugal most of his gifts are DVds from bargain rack at walmart. He must want something big.

just had to replace the battery in my beastie too.

i knew it was coming. when it started getting cold the crank power faded fast. the car sits most of the time anyways. i'll need it to be reliable when jury duty comes around. 9yrs is a good span for a battery.

congrats on the gift. it's nice when people do things for ya once in a while.

yup good tires are not cheap. amazing when you shop around for tires the price difference for the same brand..

Does anyone remember when tires were 4/$100? I do and every time we buy tires I remind my husband of that and he just gives me a look, haha.

You can still get those I think. I know people here who change theirs out seaonally, who knows why...we never get any snow anymore.

yes i can remember studded snow tires and yes you had to have 2 sets summer and winter tires while living back in tahoe...

bet some of you can remember this...

this was my first car<parents gave it to me>
1972 ford ltd country squire station wagon..the tank/the berm buster/the party wagon. would put studded tires all around and switch out in spring..
of course on the front bumper there was a tow chain.. what a car....
