I haven't made them for ages, I used to beat the egg whites stiff fold in some grated cheese drop spoonfuls on buttered toast, make the nest for the egg yolk and pop them in the oven.

Steve it was so long ago I can't even remember what temp I set the oven at, I'll have to put my thinking hat on, I'm getting to that age where the memory bank is so full I have to delete some stuff to store the new stuff...... well, that's my story and sticking to it :). Red pepper never thought of trying that, I like to sprinkle vinegar on my poached eggs (very English).

@Nyboy Well now after reading these posts I decided I would make some for my dinner tonight. (Home alone so no big meal needed!)
