Yes it does, and not for the better but if you read the info on that web site explains the best way to prune to advoid the plants from going to seed to quickly.chills said:

I've got some Thai basil going now. It's the first I'v grown in years but I always liked that slight anise taste it has and the purplish leaves are pretty also.
