Growing basil with tomatoes

If the basil goes to seed does it change/ruin the flavor or taste? I'm still going to try, planted my seeds today, but I'm prepared if they go to seed.

Yes it does, and not for the better but if you read the info on that web site explains the best way to prune to advoid the plants from going to seed to quickly.

I am growing two types right now, genovese(large leaf) and dani (lemon) basil right now and would love to find some cinnamon seed. The dani smells amazing, can't wait to try it.

I've got some Thai basil going now. It's the first I'v grown in years but I always liked that slight anise taste it has and the purplish leaves are pretty also.
