I just found this site when researching seeds. I live in the Flint Hills of Kansas.

Welcome from east Texas!! Tell us a little about your self and your garden. We are a friendly bunch and our passion is gardening! A lot of us have chickens too!

A little more about myself. I have a passion for beans and corns. I planted 18 bean varieties this year and 4 types of corn. I also planted a variety of the normal tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli and cucumbers plus 4 types of potatoes. I use a raised soil bed with added compost, manure and peatmoss. I am just beginning to not use any chemical sprays so it is a learning curve. I can not get the squash bugs under control. I am also back with chickens again this year with Welsummers and Silver Laced Wyandottes. I really look forward to learning with everyone here.

Welcome, Kansamuse! :frow You've certainly come to the right place. Hop on over and check out the Little Easy Bean Network thread. The Bean Network (lovingly referred to as the "Beaniacs") is in it's second year and going strong. Little late in the season, but maybe you'll be ready to hop in next year. :)

Hi Kansamuse, glad you joined us. This is a great place with a lot of really nice people who are always ready to help you out. How big is your garden? I'm guessing it is a lot bigger than mine! What grows well for you there?

Mary

Hi from your neighbor to the east. Lots of people on here are fascinated by seeds--and what they grow. Glad to have you on board.

What kinds of corn are you growing? This year I grew Anasazi Sweet corn (keeper) and Painted Mountain (another keeper). I have Oaxacan green dent growing now with browned silks.....letting it dry, don't know yet if it is a keeper or not. I am dying to see if it makes green cornbread! I started a Corn 2014 thread, post pics and tell us about your corn!

The bean experts we have here are unbelievable in their knowledge. I am amazed to stand in such company. The bean network thread is lots of fun, you'll have to pile in there next year!

Welcome to TEG :frow Glad you joined our community!

What part of the Flint Hills? I just relocated myself to SC, back in 08', from the Flint Hills.
