Hey!

My grandma has been making wine for a long time and i was interested to see if anyone else makes it the way she does.

It's a very simple process all she does is put garden fresh fruits preferably berries into an airtight glass jar, dumps sugar on them, and lets them sit for a few years. Has anyone done this before? I'm actually going to attempt making some this year and give it to her as a gift maybe for her birthday.

Some fruit she has done: raspberries, cherries, blueberries, plums

Are there any other fruits you can do this way? I'd love to know more, hopefully this year i'll make raspberries, blueberry, and plum.

she said you could also make wine this way with certain flowers? Does anyone have experience with this?

I don't do this, but I do make fruit liquors by putting fresh fruit packed into jars with sugar and then cover in vodka. In 4-6 months I have some top shelf alcohol and I gift this at Christmas! I get RAVE reviews, and people actually returned the liquor bottles to me so I could do it again for them next year. :D Saves me a ton of $$$ on gifts, and I out gift the people who go out shopping!

Hmmmm. Maybe it's not too late for Christmas presents this year. Good idea. Thanks.
