Something to think about folks is he may not have gone home. He's probably doing a tour in a rehab facility to get his strength back up. He had a major surgery, which includes cracking the sternum (literally break the bone to open up the chest to get to the heart) to get access AND he had vessels removed from his leg. So not only did he have his chest opened up and take the wind out of him he's not going to be very mobile due to his leg that was included in the operation.
The risk of infection is always present, plus when they open up the chest like that, there is always a risk of pneumonia settling in because he won't want to take a deep breath because it HURTS. And given his age (Im sure he's in much better shape than many people his age) I'd be shocked if they just let him go home to recooperate. Most rehab facilities are 24hr places where you stay for a few weeks and they do intensive therapy to make sure when you go home your able to care for yourself. Especially if you live alone which Hoodat may. They are usually pretty nice places and they do serve a good purpose. Only downside is unless he's got a smart phone with internet access I don't think he can get online.
Plus with all the rehab he's doing its going to take a lot out of him, it takes a lot out of anybody so he may not feel up to trying to find internet access. I really believe that's what's going on with Hoodat. What I just described is a VERY common course treatment for someone in his age. It could have been a knee or hip replacement and he'd be going through the same tour of rehab and the same questions would be asked.
I'm sure he'll be back on here as soon as he gets to his home and starts getting around again. I hope this helps put everybody at ease a little bit. So until then we need to continue to keep Hoodat in our thoughts and prayers.
