You've got that little "chain symbol" up there, Jared.

Let me see if I can highlight a word, click that symbol and link something (link).

I guess I could now do a "more options..." and then a "preview" but I dang well could get lost!

Yup, linking in the new system should be WAY easier. Just highlight the text you want to link, then click the "link icon" and enter your URL / link:

But that just creates a link. If I wanted to use a word instead of having the whole link on the post. Say I wanted to use a link to bicycles. Instead of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_bicycle why can't I have the word bicycle serve as the link? Remember how it used to say url= then you'd post the link the brackets would close around it you'd enter a word that served as your link to that page then it closed with /url and more brackets?

Because when I click on the link icon It simply posts my link. I can right click & paste that.

Any of this making sense?

  1. Write out the word: bicycle
  2. Highlight the word "bicycle"
  3. Click the chain link icon
  4. Enter the URL you want the bicycle text to link to
That should change the text into a link.
