How to get rid of "Dr. Huey" without killing beautiful roses?

Should you manage to get rid of the good doctor, try mulching the roses in the fall with several inches of shredded leaves or even soil that you can remove in the spring. That will prevent the rose from dying back and having the root stock take over again.

Everything is better than wild roses unless you are looking at them growing on someone else's property.

Digging them out is treacherous and leaving them is dangerous. They are growing everywhere that Spouse hasn't cleaned out. Try walking through those brambles! Yuck!

I LOVE wild roses! You mean the hot pink ones that are so fragrant; right? I'd plant my whole yard in them if I could!
