I think my carrots...

I think the plant went to seed. That's why the root was small.

last summer, My garden did very well with all the rain we had, My garden gone wild!, by the time winter came I found few giant carrots I didnt pick ! This summer. I got one carrot that grew so tall , over 4 feet , it got flowers on it! pretty white flowers that looks like califlowers! I let it grow for a while thinking I will have a record carrot size. I pulled it out the other day and my carrot was only 2 inches long !!:/

You know, I wanna see the butternuts too. I have had NO success this year with summer or winter squash. I was ticked off to say the least. I planted a second set of summer squash in July I didn't harvest until October. They were small, and I got maybe 12 total. That is HORRIBLE for anything considered OVERLY productive.

We did plant acorn squash and butternut when we did the pumpkins. All those were lost from being trampled, or the cat using that bed as a litter box and dug them up after they finally sprouted.

So disappointing!

I wouldn't might enjoying someone else's successes. You guys keep me going to try again after every fail I've had. I would have quit LONG ago with the carrot issues we've had over the years. :P

I pulled one of my carrots this week. It was small and bitter. I think I'm better off buying them. They taste great from the grocery store!
