Icon over an icon?

Anybody know what the little icons over the original poster's icon (aka the person who started the thread) means? I've seen me on a few of them & have no idea what it means.

Jared, do you mean the little avatar on the corner of the authors avatar? Or do you mean the glasses? I don't know what the glasses are, unless it means that's a post we are watching. The small-on-big avatars indicate that you've posted in that thread. Maybe...?
