Red, you're probably talking about Pex pipes. its the new norm for plumbers to use and less likely to have the issues that copper has. also, it is less attractant to copper thieves. takes less time to install and requires a simple tool for the shark bite connectors. i had to drive my plumber friend over to a job site to quote a contractor on a job and the guy wants to do copper for most of the stuff under the kitchen sink. he quoted the guy for that and the job to do the lines for a washer in the basement around $1k. said if he was doing with Pex it would be almost half the cost for the sink portion due to the time to do the cuts/cleaning and soldering joints.

Reminds me of the time the toilet clogged. The plunger didnt loosen it so I got out the snake. I pulled a bird out of that drainpipe. Best I can figure it fell down the roof vent.

Reminds me of one house we did for Mom and Dad. They bought it for a song. . . . no dance needed. . . because it had been vacant for half a year and someone had taken all the copper water pipes out of it. None of the aluminum storms were left either.
