I'm in Alaska.

First Pick, a French variety that sets fruit even in cool nighttime temps is a great early variety too. 5-6 ounce fruits.

Manitoba is another variety from Canada that does very well in the greenhouse with good 6-7 ounce fruits.

These are both heirloom varieties also.

The selection around here is pretty slim. I would have to start from seed. I will ask my local green house about them though. Maybe they can get them for me.

Hey Alaska animal lover, Have to ask: Once you found the this site when looking up compost info-did the Backyard chicken site inspire you to get chickens?

I am not in Alaska but have been there twice-loved it. Although it was spring so it was not that cold. Was in Fairbanks, North Pole, Anchorage and Eagle river. Would love to have a summer cabin there some day. :ya
