intensive care for the plants

remembered to bring home the g/m's potted plants today poor things. she loves these plants she received 4 years ago when her father passed away, so they mean something special to her..

fired up the t-5 lighting gave them a good shot of fish emulsion they will set there for about a week, then transplant them into their new home.

after that another week to adjust to their new home, and back to her office.

Um...is the plant in the pot on the left just really shy, or is it laying down on it's death bed. I can't see it.

i used to do that all the time for one of my bosses. when i noticed a neglected plant in her office she would give it to me for a few weeks to resurrect it once again and then hand it over to her for a few more weeks to a couple months and then i would get it back.

I find under my shop lights downstairs that my split leaf philodendron (monstera) has put on a nice big leaf, the rubber tree is sprouting new leaves, the orchid has buds, and a kalanchoe I received when Mom died last April is starting to rebloom. That little plant bloomed all summer; I cut it down to about 4" in the fall, and here it goes again. Who knew those things were so energetic?

I have purchased a few glazed pots for plants with good drainage holes but were deadly to plants.

this morning spent time trimming all the dead leafs, carefully removed the plants it will be a miracle if they survive only one of them had decent roots. pinched off one of the philodendrons hopefully it will start making roots too plant at a late date.
after a good watering raised the light as high as it would go, couple of them looks a bit shocky so removed 2 of the bulbs of that does not help will take out 2 more. now it's a waiting game...

Just cleaning them up makes them look 100% healthier Major.
I'm sure they'll perk up and start growing for you soon.
