I'm glad you are here, Monty.

And, I'm glad you mentioned BYC! It prompted me to go over and check a thread I posted on recently. I'm over there now and then but only to check out the Feeding forum. It makes sense for a gardener with chickens, doesn't it?

I've got a crazy old hen that has decided to set again, probably because of the warm weather. It is the 3rd time this year! There's no rooster . . . and no egg for her to set on either. I think I'd better get her out of the nestbox tomorrow and make her sleep on the coop "porch" for a couple of nights. She should be fine out there and cool her "hotheadedness" - silly dang thing.

You live in a part of the country that kind of intrigues me but that I've never visited. It is a very narrow panhandle, in an oddly shaped state to start with. My son lived near State College, PA for awhile and had reason to go to Steubenville, OH and to Washington DC, at times. Either direction, he would cross panhandles and completely confuse me when he would report his whereabouts, en route ;).

Steve, we love to go camping in the Seneca State Forest in the mts of WV. If we go west by route 50 and pick up 219 S (shorter by miles technically, but takes longer because you are climbing 9% grades most of the way), there is a point where we cross into MD for 2 miles, then hop back over into WV again. It is a funny shape for a state, but for the elementary school kid, at least it's easily recognizable.

Steve, I live right across the river from Steubenville. The wife and I were over there today doing some shopping.
