@majorcatfish , you may have her confused with the novelist

Bloom Makepeace Thistly, Moose Poke of the North Woods

She had only a brief career after the publication of Vanity Flair, her best known work.

I don't know if I could contend with something like that!

I have desired to fire upon deer in the garden and large trespassing dogs with a paintball gun though. Shame you have to make sure to keep the CO2 cartridge charged first...

Moose would probably not find that amusing either.

I am with journey deer are bad enough. It would have driven me insane watching them eat the apple trees. I had a guy working on my chimney, yesterday he stopped by to be paid. He asked if I hunted when I told him no, he asked if he could hunt deer next year. I told him go ahead I see them as giant rats.

Me too. I refer to the deer as pasture rats. Seeing them in my pasture is - for me - just watching them eat my cow's food.

But there is something about the moose that just makes me smile.
Now, of course, if they were in MY yard... probably not so much. But @thistlebloom 's pictures and commentary is just fun. I love THOSE moose'sses

I would think the moose are a mixed blessing. Very cool to see, but I think I would slightly resent an animal that keeps me from going about my daily business.
Thanks, Thistle, for letting us live vicariously through you!

Thanks for the moose update and narrative. I am like @canesisters and enjoy it so much. Moose are COOL as long as I have lots of room between them and myself. My only close encounter with a moose occurred on a lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.

Since we don't have any moosies here in Texas, I can only enjoy them in your pictures. Mama moose towers over your horse, no wonder he gets nervous.
