July 12, 1812: The United States invades Canada at Windsor, Ontario. For the US military, this was an unsuccessful attempt.
Windsor was also the site of the "Battle of Windsor," in 1838. This violence was supported by the "Hunters' Lodges," a secret anti-British militia that was mostly based in th US. They launched the "Patriot War" which was opposed not only by the Canadian government but the American government, as well.
