These are a few that I'm growing..I have really become quite fond of Marigolds and California Poppy..I love the flower of the Tiger plant but, don't really care for the foliage as much..Maybe because my cat has been trampling them..UGH!

I'm on a mission for Morning Glories..I seen some beautiful colors at my garden store..I walked out w/o them, and now I'm kicking myself! I want to make a sunflower house for my kids and wrap the glories around it..I seen some cool ideas on the Web..

Yes, the yellow flower is Cali poppy. Want to hear a funny story? Okay, somehow back in Feb. when I was germinating all my flowers and veggies, I mixed up the Cali poppy with carrots tray..So, I planted the carrots and well, they ended up being the poppies! LOL I was thinking wow, these carrots have such a beautiful foliage! My hubby says one morning, dear, those look like the wildflowers in your bed..I was like nah, those are carrots! So after they kept growing, eventually they shot off flowers and I was totally amazed! LOL yep, those were poppy and a whole row too! I ended up moving them to my beds. Now I'm sure there are "carrots" growing in place of the poppy..lol Their foliage looks almost identical...

Thanks! I never soaked mine..They seem to pop up pretty fast here...I'm actually buying some red ones today! Heading to Home Depot in about an hr! lol

My moon-flowers will prolly take awhile to pop up tho' I'll try the soaking method tonight on the Morning Glory seeds, and see if there is any difference..

What is the second plant? That flower is so cool!! The poppies grow like weeds out here in the spring. They are so pretty when you're driving down the freeway. They come in pink, too. :)

Soaking speeds up sprout time. You can also file a small nick on the seed husk this helps a lot.

I am in FL. also, we should trade seeds. I have several colors.

All so pretty!

I can't say I have the same enthusiasm for morning glories, they are the most invasive thing in my garden and I've been ripping them out by the hundreds all summer.......
