Phaedra have you eaten taro stems?
I've had those. DW is somewhat familiar with them. She and a knowledgeable friend made an ID determination on some plants and they played the role of house plants and then went out to the garden last year. I have just brought tubers up from the basement. We aren't eating those but the stems during the growing season are a very mild and, a surprisingly, green.
