i've never hung around cats that ferocious, but i have been damaged a little from a kitten trying to climb me like a tree when it was startled (nothing i did i just happened to be standing there when someone let their puppy run in the place where the kitty was at).

I remember watching one of those "what were they thinking" videos, where a cat owner decided that the solution to giving her cat a bath without it getting away, was to take it in the shower with her & close the door. Needless to say, since she was the only thing the cat could climb, it ended badly for the human.

i'm glad to say that Mom is doing much better now so we made it over that lump.

As far as my house goes WE respect our kitties and their fangs and claws.
The pride doesn't really claw us or bite us, BUT, in a previous year, with a previous litter DH decided to pick up a 6 week old kitten who got scared and almost bit through his thumb!
Our kitties just want winter cuddles, and the occasional hour on my lap with my new heated blanket.
