thanks for that wonderful bit of holiday lore! i always wondered why most people up here in New England seemed to keep their holiday lights up till the end of January or beginning of February! 
i hope everyone had a nice holiday, what ever you may celebrate! me, i'm happy the solstice was here and now past so the days are getting longer again and i'm getting giddy that spring will be here!
