I have a little pot of nasturtiums that I'm growing from seed right now!

The first nasturtiums are just starting to bloom here, and I had forgotten how lovely they are. I am so glad that we planted seeds last month. The colour palette that they offer is so eye catching, and they are indeed one of the easiest to save seed from.

On June 20th a second succession of nasturtium seeds hit the dirt, and they did not do much at all through the hot summer months. In fact, I had all but given up on them when suddenly September rolled around and they began to fill out a bit. Now in mid-October they are catching the eye of passers by, and I am receiving compliments on how pretty they look. The yellow variety is called Alaska (please pardon the horsetails...that bed is on the list to be weeded), and the pink one is Tip Top Rose.

horsetail is a real booger of a weed to fully eradicate. get it early as you can and as much of the roots as you can track down.
