Since I know how much ya'll love pictures, here are some of my new beds. The plants are pretty small yet, but this weekend while camping we found the most beautiful driftwood along the reservoir. You should have seen us scavenging these pieces into our canoe, hilarious! :) Enjoy!

First of all, getting it back to our campsite!

My favorite driftwood piece, hugging the rosemary!

So far, I have planted chives, rosemary, mother of thyme, corsican mint, and lavender. Oh and a dragon's blood sedum, and a cream colored flag iris, the only non-herbs in these beds! But this fall I'll be filling in with garlic! I ordered seed already, so excited!!!

That driftwood looks great with the rosemary. Isn't it nice to find nice things to add in the garden.

Great idea!! ;)

OOooo! Nice bed Heather! Your driftwood is so perfect for an herb bed.
The picture of the driftwood in your canoe (did you have to swim behind?) reminds of the time my husband and I took a day trip down river with two newfoundlands and a malamute and a cooler in the canoe.
That was quite the thrilling expedition with the dogs lunging and biting at the blackflies! We did that once.

Holy COW that sounds silly thistle!! We've had all 3 of our dogs inthe canoe, but one at a time!! Theyellow lab flipped us, the chocolate just swam most of the trip, and the retarded collie mutt just curls up and sleeps!

WOW! That is just breathe taking! What a find too by the way... definitely sets everything off nicely. ;)

What a lovely, welcoming path to the front door! Just wait till the herbs get bigger- the heavenly smell as you brush against them will be super! What is the neat ceramic thing at the entrance? Is it a pot broken in half? I love the way it looks (and I love the driftwood too!)

I love the way this looks, very fitting, inviting, and different. It's non-fussy and useful!! :D

People can have a snack too if you take too long answering the door. ;)

Haha, jennifer, someone is already trying to snack on my herbs!! Squirrels, not humans tho, i think, were pawing around in there last night, and dug a few things up a bit. No real harm done.

And Lesa, yes the blue and white is a broken pot, the one bunch of chives was living in it for years (!) and when i tried to get them out, i realized the only reason the pot was still together was cause the roots of the chives were holding it together!!

I don't mean to repeat what has been said but I must also say how amazing that driftwood looks, it really draws your attention to the beds. I wish I could find some around now!
