Allium are bulbs if your in their zone pretty fool proof. Once i found a clearance sale of $1 a bag of bulbs, I filled a shopping cart full. I had like 10 bags of allium, going on my 3 summer enjoying them

I would have done the same that's a good price. I will probably try and grow them next year I am trying my hand at elephant ears this year but they don't seem to be growing but I will have to wait and see maybe they will decide to spring up.

I would think the elephant ear would do well in Alabama, here they are annuals or to be dug and stored indoors for winter. They are VERY slow to show signs of growth. Welcome from Eastern IOWA Here is a photo of my oldest grandson with an Elephant ear about 7 years ago.

I have elephant ear in a pot and it sure is not the size of an elephant! But at least it stays there year round.

Elephant ears here never die, they freeze back and come back year after year.

Yes they came back and they are beautiful sadly i moved and didn't get to bring them with me but hey at least I got them to grow

My baby brother ate part of an elephant ear in San Antonio back in the mid 60's. We had to take him to the base Dr to get his stomach pumped out.
