New Tab for profile posts

Has that been there all along, or did I just notice it? Either way, pretty cool! I wasn't sure anyone ever paid attention to profile posts before (other than in direct conversation with that person). I can see my "status updates" from that profile post tab, along with all recent profile posts members have made. Sometimes I'll put something on there, like what I'm up to that day that maybe didn't justify a thread of its own otherwise. This will be a good way to let friends know if I'm gone on vacation or such too.

Steve mentioned this before, but I thought I'd say it again--remember that your profile posts are public. It's not a good idea to post your address there, because everyone can see it. Use "Conversations" aka. PM's for that.

Also, @Nifty , I wanted to say the Ignore function is great. It really does the trick. I was surprised by how thorough it is. My blood pressure thanks you. LOL

@journey11, it has always been there as far as I've known. I never did see anyone who used it and never saw a reason to use it for myself.

Now, I can see it as a way to permanently laud a member for something they've done.

I don't know how on earth I missed it before. I usually do my reading by clicking on "Recent Posts" at the top and then look through the thread titles in bold. At the top of the list there is where I saw it, right beside a tab for "New Posts" written in green. As much as I am on here, I can't believe I missed that. If I ever noticed any profile posts, it was usually individually and some time later. I'm glad to see I can flip between the two and get them all in one place.

So what happens if you click "ignore" on a person?
Is it that none of their posts come up, or your posts don't go to them? Or something else?

You will be blissfully unaware of any bickering and fighting.

As far as I can tell, their content is omitted from all threads you see and also you won't see any threads they've started. I imagine it also prevents them from contacting you. There is a little button at the bottom of the page on a thread that says "show ignored content" which you can click if you really want to see it.

So happy that I haven't needed to use the IGNORE function on this site! I can and do skip some very few unpleasant posts, but with the speed at which some posts are hijacked, I couldn't stand not knowing which direction the post jumps.

I do want to say, I am not opposed to reading a lively discussion with varying viewpoints that are thoughtfully articulated. Those kind of conversations are good for learning something. But otherwise my time on here is limited and I don't like having it wasted on fruitless bickering and I have blocked those I feel who do nothing but fight and are disrespectful to their opposition.

Gardening is fun and relaxing...I like my time on TEG to be fun and relaxing too.

I shouldn't have tacked on that bit really and don't have anything more to say about it. I suppose ignore works better if nobody knows about it. Just something else I recently figured out how to use on here. I'm really liking everything about the new site now and all the upgrades have made using the site really awesome,(once I finally figure out how to use them.) I was just wondering if that profile posts tab was new or if anyone else had noticed it.
